“With change comes casualty, but through casualty, new ideas are spawned”

During the COVID-19 lockdown, I was lucky enough to be living by the water in FL. One day in 2020, while wearing masks and gloves, I came across a vintage McNulty Kayak at a local paddle shop (Native Water Sports, Jensen Beach, FL). The shop owner and I discussed how business had picked up because being out on the water naturally involves social distancing. After some refurbishing, I took the McNulty out for its maiden voyage and instantly fell in love with how effortlessly it cut through the water. With no one else around, I wanted to share this incredible feeling with others who may not have had the chance to experience it. That’s when the idea hit me…

So I got in touch with with my friend, Wendy, who was furloughed from her travel job. I knew it was killing her to be stuck inside, knowing she loves being out on the water and being active. She is a true outdoors-woman:

ME: “Wendy, you have a GoPro Hero 7, right?”

WENDY: “Yeah….?”

ME: “Good… take your iPhone, your GoPro, get on your SUP and call me from the water.”

WENDY: “Who is this?”

ME: “It’s David.”

WENDY: Sorry, you sounded a bit excited, and I wasn’t sure…. Why?

ME: “Grab your SUP… I have an idea….

As my guide, Wendy is taking me to some awesome places and we will be discovering the interior of Florida in the upcoming months.
